Megfest is upon us!
posted @ 9:10 am in [ - ]

Megfest officially began over the weekend with the knowledge of the first package. It’s on its way, so I reckon we can all strike up the band. The plans for local festivities are still somewhat loose, but here’s the shape they’re taking.

Saturday, March 4: Cheap Fun Day Coffee & breakfast Miniature golf (Boondocks?) (Anything else good up north?) Lunch @ Pints Walking it off in the art museum 5:00-ish Mars Imax Dinner Drinks/out afterwards? Bowling?

Thursday, March 9: day of Cake for breakfast? Botanic Gardens? (Kirkland Museum?) [11:00 – 3:00 class/travel/prep] 3:30 – 5:00 Teatime [5:00 – 8:00 class/travel/prep] 8:30 Dinner (Valente’s? Home?)

Saturday, March 11: Film Festival/Party Day [Beginning around 1:30 or 2:00] Film festival? (if so, need location & theme) Dinner/drinks out with group?

Sure, input is welcome!

As for the caffeine etiquette challenge, my Plan A was to get coffee early on in the trip and attempt to chug it all before going into the meeting. Far less delicate than what Joanna suggested, to be sure. When it was, you know, hot (like, cartoon molten-hot), I instead planned to go into the meeting with the extremely large cup, and if anyone appeared bent out of shape about it, to suggest that it hadn’t occurred to me that there would be coffee at the meeting, and then make a joke about needing caffeine to think about caffeine, or possibly about the fact that I had a cup that had its own tide patterns, and maybe one about being so gauche as to bring one’s own coffee. We all have a little chuckle at my expense, nobody thinks I’m a total coffee assh*le, and I get my fix. Everybody’s happy.
