So it’s graduation day for the grad students here at D.U. I am, alas, not among them on this outing, but since I’m going to be participating in an event as faculty, I got to go pick up faculty regalia. That was fun on a number of different levels.
For one thing, it’s my first time getting regalia as faculty, so it’s novel and fun. For another, I am apparently so youthful and fabulous that nobody expects me to be faculty, which is entertaining on a number of levels. Also, I think at least a few folks I’ve had in class are graduating, so I’m going to get to hood them, which is very cool. Hey, when I join a community, I buy in! You want me to come by for a hooding ceremony and hood some folks? You got it! Plus, apparently when you’re faculty, your regalia is free, and you don’t have to wait in line. See? Getting an advanced degree is totally worth it!
On another cheery note, the Boulder parking dilemma is solved. The facility holding the White House Project / GoRun event is not only blissfully easy to find, get this: it has its own damn free parking. What a concept!
Further updates as events and opportunities warrant.
